•             Check your A/C filters and replace them if necessary. The filters can get nasty pretty quickly, so you may have to replace them more often than you think.
•             Turn off the fridge and wipe off the condenser coils to avoid dust build-up and lower your energy bills. While you're at it, you may want to consider replacing the water filter in your fridge. That is particularly important if you consume water or ice from your fridge regularly.
•             Cleaning out the ice machine is always a good idea. There's a reason restaurants have strict maintenance routines for ice machines. Dirty or contaminated ice can decrease the safety of the food you eat and the water you drink.
•             Clean out the range hood (the intake or fan above the stove) to increase its lifespan and prevent food particle build-up. In addition, replacing the range hood's filter is also a good idea.
•             While you're over by the range, give your stovetop a good clean (make sure not to scratch it if you have a ceramic stovetop), and clean the oven to remove old food particles. To avoid the hassle of cleaning the hood, you may want to consider a stovetop with an integrated ventilation system.

•             If you have a charcoal grill, you should remove the coals and clean the body of the grill thoroughly. Don't forget to clean the grate.
•             Gas grills have to be deconstructed and cleaned part by part. Cleaning your grill consistently can ensure that your BBQ remains delicious and that there is less risk of grilling accidents.
